Feels good!!

I'm so happy to have lost 10 pounds since starting back up!  Yay!!!  MFP has really helped...

Today was a free day, which was kind of nice, although I feel a lot better on my none free days.  I had a little to much for supper, me thinks. 

Just 7 pounds to go and then I'm down to my goal of 150 pounds.  Then it will be all about maintaining.  :)

Otherwise, it has been a busy summer, hard to believe it is almost over.  It went by way to FAST!

This is all because of Him, so many times I feel like I can't do this anymore, but the Lord gently nudges me on.  I keep running the race that is set before me.  HalleluYah!!

Still Chugging Away

Sorry, I've not had much time to blog here or even read your blogs.  I'll try and catch up sometime soon.  :)

Still going here and in the past 3 weeks I've lost close to 8 pounds!  Yay!!!  I'm now down to 159.6...  Just 9 more pounds to go until I've reach my goal.  My weight fluctuates during the week, so it is up and down, but so far on every Thursday I have a loss, even if small.  :)   Then it will be all about maintaining, or hopefully we will be blessed with another gift again.  It is nice starting out at a good weight though!  :)

MFP really helps...

I lost 4 pounds!!!  Yippee!!   

I'm curious to see how this week goes, I don't expect to loose 4 pounds again this week, but I'm encouraged and inspired to started taking care of myself.  :)

My Fitness Pal

So this week I've gotten back onto the band wagon again!  I've join MyFitnessPal and it has been fun to watch my calories and see where I need to improve.   Not going to let it rule me, but it has been fun, I'm planning to fill it out Monday to Friday and keeping my weekends free.

As for exercising, I started back up today.  I rode my bike 4 miles down and up our counrty gravel hilly road!  It was fun!!  I also biked fast on my mom stationary bike for 10 minutes today. I'm hoping to do a mixture of bike riding, walking and some other things, just not sure of the other things right now.  LOL

So that is a brief update from me!  I need to check in to see how the rest of you are doing.  :)

For my weight I'm back up to 167 pounds and I'll see what the scale reads on Thursday morning!!  Oh, I've joined the biggest losers on MOMYS, that is what got me motivated to get moving again.  :)

Believe It Or Not, But....

....I'm still HERE!!  LOL

I've gotten of track with walking and my eating habits.  It hasn't left my mind though and  I'm hoping to start back up soon.  I just find it hard with the garden and all, that I don't have time to get out there for a walk.  But I NEED to MAKE time, so I'm going to just have to get up and go.  :)   I have been "exercising" out in the garden, but I know it is not the same.  :)  My weight has gone up 3 pounds too, so talk about discouraging and also getting me to think of getting back to WORK!!  :)

Anyway, that is a tiny update from me and I hope the rest of you my friends have been doing better than me.  :)

P.S I've kept up with my reading my Bible through in a year plan and it has been so good!  I'm in the book of Psalms and Acts.  :)

I can't do this alone, this keeps me walking in humility...

How do you find the Time

How/where do you find the time to exercise??  I've been NOT walking lately and just feeling a bit depressed about the whole thing, I guess.  I wanted to walk 500 miles this year and I'm way behind and right now have zero desire to even try and catch up, although while typing that, I felt a tiny spark of courage to actually try to do that!  LOL

So my question is where do you find the time and when do you try to exercise as in waht time of the day??

Ok, waffles are looking good, have a couple seconds before I make the next one.  Hee hee

I was getting up before 7am and walking, but that hasn't been happening the last few weeks, my alarms goes off and I don't get up.

I need to do it in the morning before breakfast, because after breakfast, my mornings are then filled with school, dish washing, school checking and lunch making, plus I try to squeeze in a couple loads of laundry and hung out on the line.  :)  Afternoons are more free for gardening, sewing and that sort of thing.  We won't be able to take school off completely this summer, that is a whole other story.  So once summer is here, we will do gardening and outside work in the morning and school doing the hot part of the day.  That is my plan anyways.

So my days feel full and I don't know when/how to fit in exercising.  So please share what works for you.  I know I should just get up early, but that is hard.....

So, I'm all ears.....  :)

Ok, back to my waffle making....  P.s the children are thrilled to be having waffles for supper!!  :)

Another p.s I've been keeping up with my Bible reading.  it has been good!  I'm in 2 Chronicles in the old Testament and in the Gospel of John in the New Testament.  It has been good and a blessing.  Some of Chronicles was dry, but it is all recorded for a purpose.  :)

Ok, I'm done rambling for now!  No time to proof read, so I hope this all makes sense!!  LOL 

Tanya  thinks she should buy another waffle maker, takes to long to make a batch of waffles for a large family with just one waffle maker.  LOL  :)

Where I'm At

Sorry, I had a headache all day, so I just did what I had to do and took a nap in the afternoon. :) If you all have time.... I know you all have lots of time with nothing to do! LOL!! Can you share here in a comment what your meal plan/exercise looks like? I have been talking to dh and I have yet to come up with what I should do. Cut out all sugars and more protein and less carbs I'm thinking. I just haven't had a chance to sit down and write out a plan. So that is where I am at right now. I need a boast!!! I'm writing this out on my iPod, hopefully there is not many errors. Lol

Still Here :)

I'm still here and have been walking 10 miles a week.  I haven't been as careful with how many sweets I eat during the week, so my weight hasn't dropped much or if any.  I will weigh in tomorrow morning and see how it is, I won't even be surprised if it is up a bit.  :(

I need to get motivated to eat less and exercise more.  :)

Otherwise in other news, I've been busy and soon I'll be gardening as well.  I can't wait to get in the garden, I was hoping to get in the garden this week, but it has rained every day this so far. I think tomorrow it is suppose to be sunny and for the next few days, so I just might get in the garden.  :) 

We also took a weekend trip to PA and met Susanna and family plus some other wonderful families. It was so worth the drive!! 

I've been also busy with homeschooling, house organizing, sewing and whatever else comes my way.  LOL  :)

My neighbour may start walking with me at least for half of my walk, she wants to start out with just 1 mile.  That will be fun!

Thrilled!!

Weigh in day and I'm down a pound, I've now gotten the lowest yet since starting this journey in January. 

I'm 165.6lbs!!! 

Still have at least 10 pounds to go, but I'm thrilled and this was even after not being as careful with what I was eating this past week.

I've been walking first thing every morning before 7am and hubby came alone with me this morning, which was such a treat!

So that is my update for today.  I have diapers to change and it is time to set to work, I was out this morning with piano lessons and grocery shopping.  Now I'm home and ready to start the day!  LOL

Tuesday Update

I haven't stepped on the scales since Thursday.  So no update there...  :)

I've been walking though!  I only did one mile on the weekend, but I've gotten up before 7am and walked two miles.  I'm just 10 miles away from 100 miles, I should try and reach that by the weekend, but I'm not sure I will.

So not much to report here....

On another note I've been busy painting the little boys' room!  It is going to look neat when all done.  My neightbour friend offered to help, so we worked on it yesterday and again today.  We will finish it up next week.  Not going to work on the room anymore this week... 

Anyway, time to shut down here for the day!

Week 14 weigh in

I was 166.4lbs this morning!!  That was 3 pounds less then last week. It will probably be up next week..  LOL

I enjoyed another beautiful morning walk and then the rest of the day was busy with schooling, swimming lessons, grocery shopping and now I'm making macaroni and cheese to take to church tomorrow for lunch after the service.  I also have laundry going too.  :D

Anyway, just wanted to give you all a quick update.

Walking!!

I got up again this morning and headed out the door for a walk!  I was going to get up at 6:30am, but with a fussy baby last night I didn't get up until 7:15am.  It was another beautiful morning walk.  I love listening to the birds and even heard a woodpecker.    Muffin our dog loves the walks too.  :D

Joshua was restless and fevered still last night.  Thankfully he is much better today.

Refreshed!!

I got up just after 6:30am this morning and went for a lovely walk.  The birds were singing and the morning sky was pretty!

I almost didn't get up because we went to bed late, went to sleep late and then just when I was falling asleep our toddler was up and crying and didn't quiet down for quite a while.  Still not sure what was bothering him.  So my night was short, but the walk refreshed me for another day.

Baby dear is sick and I have lots to do, so I had better get busy!

I must WALK!!

Ok, so far I haven't gotten in any walking.

MY GOAL is to get up before 7am and walk to miles.  Then once the weather gets a little nicer, I hope to go on nightly walks with him too.  That would then be 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening.  I'm behind on where I need to be to complete my goal for 500 miles this year, but I'm not giving up!!

Anyway, just thought I'd share about where I at in this journey.  :)

On a side note, I'm busy organizing and moving things here to make things better for our family.  Always so much to do!!

I'm Back & ready To Work!

Just a quick update here....

We are back from our trip down south, we had a blessed time and I will post pics and more about our trip soon.

I did my weigh in this morning, Angie, if you see this, I'll weigh in on Thursdays too.  :)  Anyway I was 169.2lbs.  So up a pound from the last time I weighed myself before we left.  I think that is pretty good, considering we ate more fast food then we ever do!  

You want to hear a funny...   I weighed myself this morning and I was 170.8, then I went to goget ready for a shower and realized I hadn't emptied my bladder since last night, so I used the bathroom and then went out and weighed myself again.  Lower numbers and YAY!!  LOL 

SO I will get back to walking daily and keep working on lowering those numbers on the scale.  My goal weight is to get down to 150.

I have to run, lots to do today!

Monday evening

This looks so much more inviting for tomorrow morning.  :D

Took me just about all day to get the kitchen looking better.  Well not all day…  I did do school with the children, prepare lunch, visit the chiropractor, rest with the baby and milk the cow.  :D   I was feeling a little under the weather, so I moved a bit slower and the girls did the dishes. (they usually do lunch and supper dishes anyways)

I'm feeling much better this evening and I hope tomorrow I'll be energetic and get lots accomplished.  Actually not sure homw much I'll get done here tomorrow, we have music lessons and swimming time.  :D

Please pray for our baby, he is congested, he has a cough, but thankfully no fever like everyone else had last week.  I hope he is not going to get worse!

Sickness, sickness go away and DON"T come back another day! 

I'm looking forward to spring, warm weather, warm sunshine and a lovely breeze blowing in the windows.  :D

Monday morning - week 8

I'm discouraged this morning....

Weigh in - 169.4 up yet another pound.  now I realized weight goes up and down because yesterday I was 168 even.  Still I'm discouraged about it all.  :(  Two weeks ago I was 167 now I'm back up to 169.  But sweet dh says not to be discouraged, he says its probably muscle, but I want to see the numbers go DOWN and not UP

I'm going to have to try and do things a bit differently.... 

For breakfast all I had was a smoothie made from homemade yogurt, banana, blueberries and a bit of br. sugar.

Anyway, this week, I will aim to get in 12 miles.

The Lord is keeping me humble, for I CAN"T do this on my own...

Posting for Angie - Wednesday

This morning I made another goal of getting 3 miles in today.  I did it!!  I almost didn't, but I decided to hit the treadmill even though it was after 9pm. 

Sweet wise, I'm doing well, still have cravings now and then, but so far so good.

I'm not keeping a record of everything I eat, but maybe I should! 

Breakfast - oatmeal with cut up apples in it, bit of br. sugar and milk
Lunch - homemade macaroni and cheese, peas and a lovely salad
Supper - some rye toast with almond butter and homemade raspberry jam, an apple and a bowl of raisin bran.

I feel hungry now, but I'm not going to eat anything until breakfast time tomorrow!

Water - I have no problem drinking water.  :D

Monday evening week7

Last week slipped by fast...  Not sure why, except I had some sewing projects that kept me busy in my spare moments.  I made myself and my big girls swimsuits.  :)  Plus a bag for Becca's piano/violin books. 

Anyway, my weigh in this morning was nothing to be excited about...  I was up a pound from last week!  168.6, last week I was 167.2.  I shall not let that discourage me and I will just keep pressing on.

I also did not meet my goal of 12 miles, I got in just in 8.4 miles.  This week I'll try and do 3 mile starting tomorrow until Friday.  I had a work-out today mucking a large calf pen in the barn.  :D

I had a really stiff/sore neck on Wednesday and today it is finally feeling much better.  I had to see the chiro...

Anyway, I have sick children here, so I shall see how the rest of this week goes!

Quick Monday Morning Note

Weigh in today.....  167.2!!   That is two pounds lower then last week!!!  Yay!!

My goals for this week is to get in 12 miles.  I didn't meet my goal of 14 miles last week, I only got in 12.5 instead. 

I have to be quick here, lots to do and it is already after 10:00am.  :)

I have one big PRAISE to share though!!  Yesterday, our oldest daughter was baptized.  It was a beautiful morning at church and she looked so happy.  :)  I'm looking forward to watching her blossom and grow in the Lord.  It makes our hearts rejoice to see her take this step.  Last summer we would not have dreamed this was going to happen, we had some challenging times, but the past few months we have witnessed changes and all I can say is the Lord is so GOOD!!  We have had many changes here and since then we have really seen the Lord working in our family here.  Thank you, LORD!!  You are so Faithful!!

Anyway, I hope to be back later....

Week 5 - Wednesday Evening

Another day ended....

Two miles in for me today.

Reading in Leviticus, lots of instruction on how to sacrifice and how it all was to be done.  It has been mentioned a few times how these offering were a sweet smelling savour unto the Lord.  I can't help thinking what a smell, burning flesh and blood....   It was all a shadow of what was to come though.  It has been interesting reading.

I allowed myself 2 cookies today!  LOL

So far it has been a good week....

Week 5 - Tuesday Night

I did my goal of 4 miles today.  :)

Yesterday, I only got in just a little over a mile, and then I was planning to do another other mile after supper. When dh came home from work and we were all sitting at the table eating supper, dh wondered if I would go out on a mini date with him that very evening.  To be honest, I didn't really want to go, I had plans for the evening and that included my walking.  The Lord spoke to me about that and I had a lovely mini date out with dh and I didn't worry about whether I got another mile in or not.  That was not important, but time with dh was.  :)

Week 5 -Tuesday Noon

I thought I would just post my goal of walking 4 miles today.

I want to hold myself accountable.  :D

Monday Morning -Week 5

The numbers on the scale were lower this morning!!

My weight on Jan. 6/12 was 174.2lb
Today's weight Feb.6/12 was 169.2lb

SO I've lost 5 pounds so far!!  Thank you, Lord!

Goals for this week

WALK 14 miles, I'm thinking of having a couple days of 4 miles and the rest just 2 miles, or I may do 3 miles Monday-Thursday and then just 2 on Friday.  I'll see...

LIMIT the sweet intake, I do allow myself some dark chocolate now and then as a treat and this past weekend, there were just to many sweets around!  I ate more than I should have, so I was surprised at the scale this morning.  I'll remind myself to make wise food choices.

READ my Bible every day - this has been wonderful and I've been enjoying it.  Today I start the book of Leviticus.  It has been a very long time since I have read this book.  Looking forward to seeing what the Lord shows me while reading, may be "dry" but I know I'll find a treasured verse or more.  :D

Friday Evening - Week 4

I was able to get in my two miles today.  So my week's total is 10 miles.  I made good choices on eating and I will see what the scales show on Monday morning.  :)

Another week is just about ended.  Tomorrow is my day off, then a new week starts!  I feel good about this week.

Yesterday while I was on the treadmill, I was reading my daily Bible reading for the day.  I'm in Exodus now and I was reading chapter 33.  I'll be honest some of the reading in Exodus was a little dry, not all but a couple of chapters were.  Anyway, what stood out to me was how awesome and amazing it was that Moses could talk to the Lord face to face.

"So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend". Exodus 33:11a

A little later in the chapter, it says Moses was not allowed to see the LORD'S face and the Lord covered him with His hand when he passed by, but he was able to see the LORD'S back.  To be in the LORD'S presence... wow....  What a special privilege!

Then Moses said to the Lord, “See, You say to me, ‘Bring up this people.’ But You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have also found grace in My sight.’  Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people.”
And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
 Then he said to Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.  For how then will it be known that Your people and I have found grace in Your sight, except You go with us? So we shall be separate, Your people and I, from all the people who are upon the face of the earth.”
 So the Lord said to Moses, “I will also do this thing that you have spoken; for you have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name.”
 And he said, “Please, show me Your glory.”
 Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”  But He said, “You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live.”  And the Lord said, “Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock.  So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by.  Then I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back; but My face shall not be seen.” 
Exodus 34:12-23

Today we are not blessed in being able to speak to the Lord face to face like Moses did or even see His presence, but the Lord does use many ways to speak to us and show us His great love.  The wonderful thing is that we can still have a close relationship with our Lord.  We also have the blood of Jesus, the gift of eternal life and the promise of being face to face and living with our Lord Jesus one day.  

Getting back into GOD'S WORD has been a blessing to me.  I've been reminded on how much the Lord loves us and after the fall of Adam and Eve, He gave us the plan of redemption, so that we could ONE day be with HIM FOREVER.  Just had to share my musings I had while on the treadmill yesterday.  Our Lord is so GOOD.

Friday Morning - Week 4

I did it!!  I got 4 miles in yesterday, my legs are a bit sore, but I'm thrilled!!  :)

I have to get in at least 2 miles in today.  I'll do one between breakfast and lunch and then one in the afternoon.

I'll share my Bible reading this evening, I should have some time then.  :)

Right now we need to go and start our day with worship and breakfast and then house chores and school.  :)

Thursday Afternoon Update (week 4)

THREE miles done so far today!!  

Temptations to eat sweets has been strong this week...  I think after I've reach my four mile goal for today, I'll treat myself to some dark chocolate.  :)  YUM!!!

I think from now on I'll try and break up my miles, seems to make the time on the dreadmill a bit easier.  Oh, I'm looking forward to warm weather and less mud, so that I can walk on the road!  :)

Week 4 -Thurday Morning

Hello!!

I was not able to get in my walking yesterday, so today my goal is to do 4 miles. (maybe more)

I've got two done already, one before chores and then I just finished another mile now.

I have to run, but just wanted to post my goals for today, I hope to be back later and share what I read in the Bibles this morning too.  :)

Tuesday Morning Week 4

I came in from the barn this morning and told my dh how I'd love to go for a walk outside.  He encouraged me to go!  So I walked 1 mile this morning.  It gave me a time to talk to the Lord and reflect on Him.  It was good!  I love my hubby!!

My prayer today is the that Lord Jesus would be reflected in me.

On another note the scale reading was 169.8.  Yay!! 

Why does our weight change so much...  I do hope toreach the milestone of being below 170.  :D

Week 4 - Musings

Back in 2010 when I did the 500 mile walking challenge with MOMYS, I had wanted to be more active, but losing weight was not really on my mind.  But by June 2010, friends were commenting on how good I looked and about my weight loss.  I was feeling great and quite happy about the extra bonus of losing weight.  I didn't really have to work hard at it either. I probably lost about 25 pounds that year.

Now this year 2012, losing weight is something I really want.  I find my thoughts heading there all the time and I'm hoping it is going to be easy and not much work. *sigh*  I'm older and it will be work...

So the reason for me sharing...  I don't want my weight to be my focus, but I want to be making good eating choices and staying active.  It is easy for me, especially in the winter is to stay indoors and keep busy in the house. Now that we have animals I am out milking and carrying hay bales around and it is good work, but I need to walk too.  It has been hard to get the walking in! 

Anyway, just musing out loud here...

I will keep pressing on...

Week 4 - I'm Back

Ok, I'm back and ready to work...  LOL  I took all of last week off and I'm feeling much better, so back to the walking etc...

Weight this morning was up from last week, I wasn't surprised, yet I was a bit disappointed. 
Last week was 167.8

Today 171.2

Today's weight was down a tiny bit from 2 weeks ago, so that is good.  Anyway, I'll keep working away here and see what the scales say next week.  I guess it would have been to easy to already be in the 160's range.  LOL

So goals for the week...

Walk 10 miles
Keep up with my read my Bible though in a year

Watch what I eat...  no sweets except on the weekend, I notice that come the weekend, I enjoy a little bit of ice cream, but am quite content with eating just a small amount.  I'm going to try and watch my carb intake as well.  No plan, but just make good choices.

Monday Week 3

WEIGHT this morning was 167.8lb, last week was 171.8lb.  That is 4 pounds, but I was sick over the weekend, so not sure how much I can count...  I'll see what next week numbers show...

My starting out weight was 174.2, so I've lost 6.4 pounds total!

Like I mention I was sick all weekend.  Friday night I came down with mastitis. This was a FIRST time ever and I hope it's the LAST time ever.  OUCH, OUCH, OUCH!!!  I was in tears Friday night from the pain and I also had chills and a fever.  I was feeling terrible.  Saturday, I felt somewhat better, but still not good and yesterday I felt a bit better still and today fever is gone and I felt pretty much bad to normal.  I was still sore and hard in the infected area, but now even that is not as bad. Much better this evening!!  Praise the Lord!!

So I spent the weekend in bed, not how I planned the weekend, but it is what the Lord gave me. 

This week, I don't really have any goals, but to get completely well.  Dh and I both agreed I need to take the week off walking, I need to get better and have no relapses.  I'll get behind, but hopefully I'll catch up over the next few weeks.

I will use some of my resting time to catch up on my Bible reading, I got behind while I was sick, I felt so awful, I couldn't even concentrate to read on anything.  

I hope you ladies have a great week.  The Lord is keeping me humble, that is for sure.  I'm thankful and will praise HIM for it.

Late Friday Afternoon

I did get my walking in!  2.3 miles for today.  My right shin was burning though.  IF I walk tomorrow, I'll be able to get in 10 miles.  Not sure that will happen as we are out most of the day.

So for now I'll caount that as 8 mile in for this week, I need 10...

Anyway, I awarded myself with a couple of pieces of DARK chocolate.  Yummy!! 

Angie, I thought of you the whole time and wondered how your 10 miles were going?  Wow....  you are brave to have such a goal!   

Friday - week 2

Well, this week didn't quite go as planned.

Walking - only 6 miles so far, may try and get in 2 more today.

Eating wise, doing well!  Making good choices, tomorrow is my "free" day!

I'll be checking my weight Monday morning and I'm curious to see if I've lost any!  I feel like I have, but the scales will show that for sure.  I just hope the numbers are lower and not higher.  :)

I've been extra busy this week and I was wondering why, then I realized I've been milking the cow every evening and that has taken a chunk out of my day.  I'm enjoying it, but I hope to find my new normal soon!  I felt bad I didn't have much computer time!  In cow news, Charlotte the calf is doing very well.  :D

So another week is nearing its end and it has been a good, but busy week.  I was thinking winter would come and things would slow down, but that hasn't happened yet and it probably won't!

Tuesday Evening

I did get in my two miles today!!  I was almost afraid I wouldn't, because dh and big girls were out this evening, but rest of the children were sleeping before 0pm, so i headed down to the treadmill and walked 2 miles.  I was hoping to get it in earlier in the day, but it didn't happen.  I'm thinking of looking into WATP or T-Tap, any thoughts on those??

I feeling much better today, although my sore throat is back... sigh...  when will we get better??

I'm back into the swing of milking the cow in the evenings.

Keeping away from sweets and snacking on good food.  Today for a snack, I cut myself a thick slice of cheese and then made a smoothie with homemade yogurt, frozen raspberries, 1 banana and a little bit of br. sugar.  It was yummy!!  I use to snack on chocolate chips, or a couple of pieces of chocolate or a cookie etc...  trying to keep my snacks a bit more healthy.  :)

Monday Morning Week 2

Well, I've been fighting a cold most of last week, but I thought I was getting over it.  Today, I feel the worst, so I'm hoping this is a bad as it gets.  I'm hoping as the day goes on, I'll feel better.  So I guess I will see how well I can keep up to my goals for the week, 

Weigh in morning- 171.8 lbs.  Yay,  I've lost weight!!!! 

Walking goals - 10 miles

Continue to spend time in God's Word, so far my Bible reading is going good, although I missed a day over the weekend.  So I'll be catching up this week.

A Fun Post



Just thought I'd share a pic of "our" new calf. I think she will have the name of Charlotte. We have on loan her mama, but the owners will be keeping all the calves. Once we have our own barn, we hope to get our own animals, but for now this farmgirl mama is thankful to have fresh milk and a cute calf to take care of. :)

When I was looking through the pictures on the camera, I came across this pic and knew the girls must have been having fun with the camera and the baby. I'm not sure our baby was impressed, what do you think? LOL

Friday Afternoon Update

So another week has just about ended...

WALKING- counting from Sunday I got 10 miles in.  Today i really felt like giving up!  I thought I'd just do 1k and them 1M and then 2k and then decided I should just do the 2 miles.  I knew I could do it with Jesus' help, but on my own I was more than ready to give up.  So a little struggle, but with god's help I was able to keep to my goal.  A cute moment while on the treadmill, my 4yo dd came down with me and was jumping on the tiny trampoline we have down there.  I ran while she jumped, I was ready to give up before she did, but the giggles were sweet and I had a lovely time chatting with her.  She is a sweetie.  :)

EATING - I did fairly well, stayed away from the ice cream and cookies.  For sweets I did enjoy chocolate milk a couple times.  I'm looking forward to a bit of cake and ice cream tomorrow.  :)


WEIGHT LOSS - nothing, I weighed myself this morning and I was 174.2, the very same weight I was at last Friday morning at the same time.  I;'ll check my weight again on Monday and keep that as my check in weight day.  :)


Over all, it has been a good week,  Thanks for all of your encouragment and I look forward to doing this all again next week!

I can see how this is all going to keep me in humility, on my own I could NOT do this.  

BIBLE READING - I'm staying on track!!  It's been a blessing to be in the WORD every SINGLE day.  :)

Thursday Evening

I don't have much time to update, but I walked 2 miles today.  Keeping away from sweets and I have been feeling great.  :D

This evening I was on the treadmill, I had sent the girls out to check on our cow and I was almost done 1km when my son came down to tell me the cow had had her calf.  So I stopped and had to go out and make sure all was well with mam and calf.   This is her second calf and she didn't treat her first calf very well.  Anyway, I milked her and we gave the calf a bottle.  Will be checking on her again trhough the night and this means we are back to milking.  I don't mind, I'm a farm girl.  :)

Came back from the barn and hopped back on the treadmill to finish my two miles...  :)

Wednesday Noon

One mile in for today so far and that was in on the treadmill.  It is such a beautiful, sunny, mild, winter day here, I'm thinking I should go and walk a mile or two out on the road.  I'll have to see though, because this afternoon my boys and I are going to muck out the cow pen.  That is a workout in itself!!  It is about 10 wheelbarrel loads.  :D  At least we will be outside in the "fresh" air.  :)

Tuesday Update

I was encouraged this morning!

First thing I stepped on the scale,(yes, I know I said I would only do it once a week) but I was 172 point something!  Yay!!!  Last Friday morning, I had had a drink or two of water first, this morning, I hadn't yet.   I'll see what the scales say on Friday morning.  :D

Otherwise, I got just one mile in today, dh was out at prayer meeting this evening and the baby was crying so I didn't want to take a 1/2 hour on the treadmill.  I'll make up for it tomorrow maybe...

Food wise, no sweets, but I did have a couple glasses of chocolate milk.  It is delicious!  LOL   Sweets were calling a little louder to me today, but I did MAKE the choice not to listen, but they DID keep calling me. 

Anyway, tomorrow is a new day.

With God ALL things are POSSIBLE!

Week 2 - Day 2

Another two miles done on the treadmill, I didn't have a chance to walk until after 7pm and that wasn't without interruptions!  Anyway, walking is done for the day and my legs are a bit sore.

4 miles done, 6 more to go...

No sweets today and they were not calling to me as loudly as yesterday.  :)

My goal for weight loss is to aim to be 170/169 lbs by the end of the month.  I'm going to weigh myself every Friday morning.  :)

Walking in Humility

Hubby and I were at church last night listening to a introduction to a parenting study we are going to be joining for the next number of weeks.  One of the things that struck me was to walk in humility.  I right away thought back to this new blog and decided I really wanted to change the name and have it REFLECT something spiritual as well.  I realized I have goals for this new year and I WANT to remember that it will be only through our Lord Jesus that I can keep to these goals and not of myself.  Also at the end of the year, I don't want to look back and think it was all about me and what I can do, but to thank the Lord Jesus for giving me strength to do this and for succeeding in this.  Walking in humility is now the blog title and each time I see it, I'll be reminded that this is not about me, but about HIM.

To be honest, I was feeling like I'm on the top of the world and without struggle much I was going to do my walking and lose weight, but you know that is all wrong!  Yes, back in 2010, I walked did 500 miles for the first time and lost weight without really trying.  I felt great and thought wow, I can do this.  2011 came along and started out good, but then I became pregnant, I was thrilled mind you, I still kept the goal of walking 500 miles while pregnant or at least aiming to reach 400 before baby arrived, but God had other plans and I had to stop walking and then I just never got back into it.  By the time my second trimester came along and the bleeding had stopped,  we were preparing for my dad to have open heart surgery and  I was milking a cow morning and evening and I also had our large garden to attend too, So my goal of walking went out the window, I just could not do everything! All my time and mostly ENERGY was used up.

Right now, we are waiting for our cow to freshen, so at the moment I don't have milking to do, but once she freshens, I'll be milking every evening along with my daughter and my dad will do the morning milking.  He recovered very nicely from his surgery, praise God.  My SPARE time is limited, but if I use it wisely, I know that I can do it. 

So this brings me to this year, I don't know what 2012 holds for me, but with Him, I'm going to walk in humility and He is going to get all the credit, not me.

As for the "old" name, hubby and I were trying to think of something that used the letter WXY  (didn't even try Z, I just didn't think I could come up with something)  LOL  because my first blog uses the letters ABC (A Beautiful Calling), so that is how we came up with that name.  It was fun, but this is much better!

I'm happy and encouraged to have you join me on this journey.

Update for Jan. 8

I just finished doing 2 miles for today.

The 30 minutes I spend on the treadmill are the LONGEST minutes of my whole day! I did get my walk in earlier today and the sun is still shining, so I thought I should have gone outside instead, oh well....  

 2 miles out of 10 walked so far this week!   8 more to go...

Today, I had my ipod and listen to music and also did my daily Bible reading, so that help pass the time and feed my soul as well.  I have the goal of reading the Bible THROUGH in a one YEAR.  Right now I'm in Genesis and today I read about Abraham and when he offered up Isaac.  What FAITH Abraham had....  It was a good reading.

How TEMPTING is has been for me to eat sweets today!!  Wow...  This is going to be HARD!  So far so good, though!!


Week 2 Goals

Lose some weight.... :)

I can do all things through CHRIST which strengthenth me!

Returning to Youthfulness

Ok, so this is just a beginning and a wonderful way to start the New Year.  I was motivated when reading a few blogs of some friends and I decided I'd start my own blog which will be dedicated to walking, exercising and losing my extra baby weight.

So my goals for 2012 are

WALK 500 miles or more by the end of the year

LOSE 25 pounds -   My weight right now it 174.2 and I hope to go down to 150.  I was at that weight before I was pregnant with our last baby.  Just by walking and watching what I ate, I was able to lose my EXTRA weight between baby 6 and 7.  :)  I was feeling great!!

I will NOT eat any sweets except once a week.

EXERCISE daily

I'll add my walking ticker once I figure this blog out.

Thanks Angie for motivating me!!  Although it was when I read Grace's blog, I decided I SHOULD do the same!

So here I go!

P.S I'm still playing around with the settings, so don't be surprised if/when things change.  :)
